Go Outdoors is opening 13 express-style stores in the North West and North Wales, with one coming to Lancashire.
The smaller, high-street style shops are an expansion for the company, giving shoppers the chance to browse the latest hiking and mountaineering equipment and clothing on offer.
Other items people can pick from including camping kit, fishing equipment, and equestrian items, and top brands such as Rab, Berghaus and HiGear will be available.
The new store in Lancashire has opened today and can be found in Houndshill Shopping Centre in Victoria Street, Blackpool.
John Hinde, retail director for Go Outdoors, said: “We are extremely excited and proud to be able to expand Go Outdoors onto the high street in this way in Lancashire, and to serve customers within the convenience of their new local store.
“We have had a brilliant couple of years, as more and more people are reaping the benefits of the outdoors for their physical and mental well-being, and this expansion is the outcome of that success.
“We’re looking forward to offering more customers our unbeatable range of outdoor clothing, footwear and equipment, whilst also supporting local communities and high streets”.
The Go Outdoors store replaces the former Millets outlet, and the Blackpool store – along with another shop in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, which opens on November 29, has secured 14 jobs.
It’s the third Go Outdoors in Lancashire, with the retailer having superstores in Throstle Street, Blackburn, and at Deepdale Retail Park in Preston.
